Post-GB Showdown 2023 Update!


Since the Jam is over, I can fix up the major flaws in the game, as well as a few minor touchups. These include:

  • The long horizontal highway is much more lenient. To spoil the changes,  the turret takes longer to fire, and the variables should properly reset upon dying or entering the room.
  • An early room had two guards who work oddly out of sync and also had script issues on reset. They've been replaced with a much more coordinated pair that alternate shooting, but their bullets are slower. The room now works as originally intended, and dying/resetting should be fixed too.
  • Two turrets at the start of one hallway have a slightly greater firing delay, as it required near perfect movement before.
  • Small script and visual changes.
  • An Analogue Pocket version? I don't know if the Analogue Pocket versions of GB Studio titles need any changes to work, I do not have an Analogue Pocket to test with myself, so please let me know if there are issues, and I will get help to fix them, as I wouldn't mind more users being able to play the way they want!

There may be more changes I have forgotten, but these are the main ones. There shouldn't be an issue this time, but if after a manual reset, things in these rooms don't work properly, try resetting the room twice in a row. As much as I would like to expand upon the game proper (a lot of ideas went underutilized or unimplemented), I think I would rather move onto a new project. But, never say never! There's a reason why this version is "Post-GBSD" and not "1.0"...
